brief bio

MeMy name is Ginnopaoli Kelley. I was born on July 14. I have a sister, Mitchelle, who is 23 and is an English teacher in Tampa . I also have a little brother, Bryan, who is 15 and entering his sophomore year in high school.

My dad played football for the University of Miami and graduated with a degree in Economics. My mom graduated from the University of Miami with her doctoral degree in Education Leadership.

My grandfather on my mom's side was a General in the Army and my grandfather on my dad's side was the co-inventor of the self-cleaning oven.

I miss both of my grandmothers.

My mom is from Lima, Peru and my dad from Kankakee, Illinois.

My mom is the one person on this Earth that I could not live without. She is quite possibly my inspiration for everything that is me. me and momI have watched her sacrifice, fight, and persevere through all of life's turmoils. I have watched in awe and admiration as her life unfolds. One day I hope all that I am reflects the courage, patience, and nobility that this wonderful and amazing human being exemplifies.

It all started some years back when I fell in love with Nicole Candy Staphelaris. I was in the third grade and madly in love. I remember making my mom buy Hello Kitty stationary for her (it was her favorite). I would draw a heart with both our names on it each time in the hopes that one day she could be as much in love with me as I was with her. It never happened. As a matter of fact, she ended up going out with my best friend at the time. It broke my heart.

I love volleyball. I started playing in the seventh grade. I remember watching the US Olympic Team and thinking I would play against the World one day. I never got to that level, but managed to win some pretty big Open-level tournaments along the way. I have been lucky enough to play all over the US both indoor and beach. I remember being an undergraduate and playing volleyball four to five hours a day! It was great...finish school at 3 pm play until 8 pm and do it all over again the next day; the weekends were even better because I would travel up and down the coast. I love volleyball.

volleyballI love sports. Ever since I can remember I have been playing sports; from football to basketball, from table tennis (national rating) to tennis, from track and field to lacrosse. If I am not at my house watching sports, you can catch me at the gym or outdoors playing football with the guys. Athletics is in my blood...my dad was a football player and my grandmother was a PE teacher for over 30 years. My little brother is also into sports. He plays basketball and does it well! I remember taking to the courts when he was just four and playing with him. I would never let him beat me (oh the tears!), but now I can barely keep up. He is among the nation's Top 50 recruits for his year level; he came in third in last year's National Basketball Championships in the three-point contest and his team came in sixth. I remember watching him play a game a few months ago where he scored 10 points, had four turnovers, and missed three free-throws in the first-half. His team was down by 18 points and I remember thinking "I wonder how he will handle this?" In the second-half he scored 36 points, had eight assists and carried his team to a two-point victory in overtime. Pretty amazing stuff. His goal is to play in the NBA, a distant thought when he was four, becoming not so distant now. Bryan Matthew Kelley, remember his name.

meI love the arts. I do not know where it started, but I have a fascination with painting, music, dance, and the symphony. I remember during my high school years sitting in my dad's chair at 8 pm every night with my headphones listening to Rachmaninoff and Chopin being played by Horowitz. I remember being eight or nine and making my mom clay pots and figures. I remember being thirteen and going to the symphony to see Isaac Stern and Alicia De La Rocha. I play the piano and although I can not read music, I have managed to create a modest repertoir of Chopin's nocturnes, Mozart's Concerto's, and Liszt's Rhapsodies. I also learned to play the guitar one summer. I got a job as a youth dsirector and thought it would be pretty silly to have a youth director who could not play the guitar! I took a praise and worship book of 300 songs and played each song everyday for an entire summer. Little by little my fingers began to learn the chords and before you knew it, I was playing guitar. I have been playing for about 6 years and enjoy Jason Mraz, Matt Wertz, Gavin Degraw, Ben Jelen, Jars of Clay, OAR, Peter Yorn, and Shawn McDonald among others.

GatorsI love my Florida Gators! Let me say it again: I LOVE MY FLORIDA GATORS! My stay in Gainesville was incredible. This is the place where I have met some of closest friends, had my most memorable moments and the most fun. I remember tailgating all day Friday, then Saturday with College GameDay and Lee Corso, then walking with the sea of orange and blue into Ben Hill Griffin stadium to watch my Gators play. I remember wearing my Gator jersey playing volleyball and the look on opposing teams when we stepped onto the court. There are too many wonderful and crazy memories from my time at UF, but I will never forget my time there and our back-to-back National Champsionships.

I love people. I enjoy being around people, meeting people, knowing people, and helping people. I have been fortunate enough to have met some incredible people in my lifetime. Each has taught me something new. Each has touched my life in some way. My hope in life is to touch people's lives in some small way that makes them better. I love the word friendship because it goes along with the feeling of love. I have lots of friends that I care about very much. I also have lots of friends who care about me. There is a saying that states, "The greatest gift God gave to us is the ability to make friends." I believe in it wholeheartedly. I have a best friend who is quite literally my other half. I love him unconditionally. Find someone who makes you feel complete and hold on to them with both hands.

I often hear, "You are the most unique individual I have ever met!" Indeed.

I am unique.
